Effective Dialogues for Real Estate Agents
Aug 16, 2022Communication is every real estate agent’s main weapon. We need to talk to people to get this business running. One of the common questions a lot of real estate agents ask is, “What do we say? What kind of scripting works for these people?”
The first thing we need to keep in mind is this: There is no such thing as a magic script that you use and people will automatically want to sell their house or buy a house from you.
It all boils down to how effective of a communicator you are. Whatever medium the conversation might be, whether by phone, text, or in-person, to be effective, you need to remember that it is all about building trust and relationships.
The number one mistake most agents make is, we approach communication, excited for a close. That salesman approach makes people back off and loses interest in talking to you. Different people are in different stages of their real estate journey. They have different personalities and therefore need different approaches.
The bottom line is, whether you are talking to an online lead, a past client, or a neighbor of a home that’s just been listed, you need to initiate conversation with the goal of establishing a long-term and trusting relationship.
